When the clock started ticking

Ten months of nights and weekends around a day job. 49 pushes.

February 2026: laid off. No salary. A mortgage. A clock that does not care.

March: 2 pushes. That is what the bottom looks like.

April: 319. In one month.

Not a hobby. Not a coping mechanism. The plan.

Notifications You Can Act On, and the Vault's Right Side
September 15–19, 2026
The bell stops being a list of things that happened and becomes a list of things to do: every row carries the one button it earns, a vote reminder dies the moment the vote is cast, and a payout reads box by box. The quest board becomes tiles. The bar gains a cog with music and sound. The Vault's empty right side goes to work: the tournament's state, the quest board, the friends rail, the personas' drops, and a badge on every card saying whether you already own it. In the arena, the Burning Coal gets a performance and the Stygian Key's floor holds against relic blasts. Behind the sealed door, the work continues.

A Sealed Door, and Honest Plumbing
September 9–14, 2026
Most of this week went behind a door that is not open yet: the Play strip's fourth tile reads EXPEDITION, and what is being built behind it stays sealed until it is ready. What did ship is plumbing you can feel: bot matches reach the history table at last, a ranked Spectate link stops being the challenger's seat, a server can run the whole game in one channel, four timers stop doing work nobody reads, and three relics learn to show themselves on the board.
0.79
The Personas Wake, and One Seat a Side
September 6–8, 2026
Medusa and the others come back to the quiet vaults: a persona opens a chest twenty minutes after a room goes silent, the three slots wait for people, a card costs a hook, and everybody gets three a day. Eighty-nine buttons Discord had been refusing get their glyphs back. Champion select gains 1v1 Vortex and offers what you own, and every account owns four. The Vote Box and the Boar's bank stop being one counter, chests go hourly, and a deploy announces itself instead of landing mid-turn.
0.78
Harpy Takes the Sky, and the Key Buys Time
September 3–5, 2026
Ariadne's Reweave stops asking which seat and starts asking which enemy, and then the whole needle-and-thread kit walks over to a new sister. Harpy is a bench champion who cannot strike the enemy across her at all; Ariadne keeps the hooks · Twin Hooks, Pierce, Gore · and is sealed on live while it is looked at. The Stygian Key's ward finally shows on the board and buys a turn instead of a kill, the Underworld Breach inverts every tick and relic too, and the Purifying Draught stops answering a whole round for a tenth of you.
0.77
Minthe's Garden, and the Room Behind the Board
August 30 – September 2, 2026
Minthe is rebuilt as the reflect specialist: two Weaves a round, a Bloom that mends and wards, a Bindweed thrown over the whole field so each line takes damage as one body, and thorns on every ward she grants. The Sphinx's question finally agrees with its designer, and an empty shelf bills its toll one blow at a time. Chaos was the mode all along, so it takes the name Vortex. And the arena grows a room: your champion stands behind the board on the left, the one you aim at on the right.
0.76
Pyrrha, and the Burning Coal
August 27–29, 2026
A new champion built on Icarus's bones, playable on beta and marked Reworking on live: Pyrrha lights five Flames a round, pays the last three in blood, and carries the Burning Coal, a relic that burns whoever holds it and cannot be put down. Vortex gets its clock: every square you are shown is spent, a dry shelf bills 30 / 40 / 50 and up, and the Sphinx turns riddles into forgetting. Sixteen relics leave the shelf. And the arena learns to stop and say what just happened.
0.75
21 Relics, and the Lock-In Ceremony
August 24–26, 2026
Twenty-one relics, five elixirs and three artifacts come out of the idea dump and into the game, unlocked so they can actually be tested against. Locking a champion becomes a ceremony that lands your kit in your face one icon at a time and then asks the honest question — keep these, or pick yourself. The arena starts showing what just happened, and Casual becomes one global queue.
0.74
Seven Relics, and One Chest
August 20–23, 2026
Seven new relics — five composed from machinery that already existed, two that needed real engine work — plus a written rule for what happens when two mirrors face each other. The chest loses the four tiers that never opened and has one. Vortex stops being a mode and becomes the game. And the greeting stops being a message about the quest board and becomes the quest board.
0.73
The Journey: A Real First Ten Minutes
August 16–19, 2026
The biggest single stretch on record — a hundred and sixteen pushes — spent on the first ten minutes. A new account is greeted in public, walked through seven lessons in its own DM, and handed buttons rather than instructions. The client gains a Quests tab, a bell that takes you to the thing it is about, patch notes you can read without leaving, and a Skin Collection. And the collection becomes the Book of Heroes: every champion, always, unowned merely darkened.
0.72
The Relic Draft: One Relic Every Round
August 12–14, 2026
Champions draw a relic and a flask at the top of every round, and the draft that hands them out gets a stage of its own — lifted off the floor, squared, lit with embers, readable at a glance instead of at a sitting. Talent and artifact procs finally show up on the board with a sound each. And a sprung trap stops the whole board to pick its victim in the open.
0.71
The Honesty Pass: Kits, Atlas & Bug Board
August 8–11, 2026
A hundred and one pushes spent, mostly, on making surfaces stop lying. Kits that described things the code never did. An Atlas of seventeen dead ends. A guide that printed its own escape codes. Rosters advertising champions nobody can play. These patch notes had stopped counting on July 13. Alongside the honesty pass: a board for what is broken, a checklist for what still needs eyes, and reporting from inside Discord.
0.70
The Loot Hub & Earnable Skins
August 6–7, 2026
One screen for everything you own that becomes something else — and the finished splash art becomes a wearable skin the arena paints and chests drop, with locked ones browsable so you can see what you are missing. Five champions get real reworks in the same two days: Echo pays in blood to speak twice, Minthe's threads finally show themselves, and Phoenix becomes a tank who banks what she is given.
0.69
Glaux Teaches: The Training Grounds
August 4–5, 2026
The trainings get a teacher. Glaux the owl takes over the arena board in her own voice, the lessons play inside a mock Discord channel so the thing being taught is the thing you will use, and a finished training can be walked again as a rehearsal that grants nothing. Meanwhile the client grows the furniture a client needs: a friends rail, a queue with a running clock, and a loading screen between lock-in and the arena.
0.68
The Tournament Draft, with Real Stakes
August 3, 2026
The Tournament becomes a real one-match snake draft, run inside champion select where every draft belongs, with the points staked and shown on both sides and an accept window that counts down out loud. The Training Grounds arrive the same day — four pickable quest-tutorials with three real fights — and the scoreboard becomes a drawer you read one stat at a time. Forty-eight pushes, one day.
0.67
One Client: Play, Collection & Talents
August 1–2, 2026
Play, Collection, Talents and History stop being four pages that happen to share a domain and become one client under one bar. Champion classes collapse to three that mean something — tank, dps, support — and the cards start saying which is which. Practice mode arrives so there is something to play alone, and Match Found becomes a ready check that reaches you anywhere in the client.
0.66
Ten Champions Get Their Art
July 30–31, 2026
Finished art for ten champions, a rarity language on the cards that reads at a glance, and champion select promoted from an alternative way to pick a team to the way. Plus a browser bug worth naming: Firefox's image decoder treats an animated gif as a one-frame still, so every VFX in that browser had been a frozen picture.
0.65
Every Cast Gets a Sound
July 21–26, 2026
Every cast in the game gets a sound and a picture — and, more to the point, a bench to tune them on. A mixer with per-ability delays, anchors, blend modes and take-tools, then a standalone offline Lab so the work does not need a server. What gets tuned there is written back to the repo in one click and baked in as the defaults every match plays.
0.64
Champion Select Arrives
July 19–20, 2026
A League-style champion select screen, for real: exact picks going live, a premade-deck dropdown on the ally rail, and a LIVE VS FRIEND mode that is genuine PvP rather than a demo standing in for one. The same two days close out the talent tree — the final five nodes land, and all thirty-six now do something in a fight.
0.63
The Talent Tree Goes Live
July 14–17, 2026
Twenty-one of the talent tree's thirty-six nodes get real combat effects — the tree stops being a picture of a plan and starts changing fights. They are wired through the engine's existing artifact hooks rather than new ones, so a talent proc and an artifact proc are the same kind of event, named in the log. Alongside it: serials on every traded item, and a match history you can read three ways.
0.62
Web Vaults: The Live Room
July 12–13, 2026
The vaults leave Discord, and the menus that stayed behind get scrubbed clean. The headline is a browser room that mirrors the three drop channels live — read the feed, type as yourself, drop a chest, claim a card, all from a webpage and all posted back into Discord on the bot's own drop-and-claim code, so a web grab and a Discord grab can never hand out the same card twice. The same two days, the inventory, Codex and Atlas got a real readability pass on the Discord side too.
0.61
The Great Artifact Rework
July 10–13, 2026
The relic vault gets torn down and rebuilt. Nine new artifacts and twelve redesigns in one sweep — a team-shield Phalanx, shield-shatter and damage-invert tools for the new duelists, hard counters for the Poison and Secret systems, and a dead relic finally cut. The through-line: fewer always-on passives, more actives you actually choose to press. Every one, introduced below.
0.60
The Balancing Bench
July 8–12, 2026
The week I built the instruments. A Damage Meter that models time-to-kill and a Healing bench that has to survive a scripted chip each round — then used both to file the numbers down across the roster.
0.59
The Olympiad
July 5–13, 2026
The first real competitive season, wired end to end. A two-week tournament cycle with a live prize pool that grows as more people play, an additive points ladder, a bracket that draws its own image, a full champion-and-artifact draft, and a payout you can actually claim. This is the game asking to be taken seriously.
0.58
Odysseus, the Cunning
July 5–12, 2026
A brand-new strategist, built and rebuilt three times in a week. Odysseus seeds Secrets on every enemy that spring guaranteed on their next move, heals his team through Mêtis, and can spend half his lifeblood to raise a fallen tank as a cursed Sisyphus.
0.57
Bellerophon, the Dragon Slayer
July 4–11, 2026
The tank-killer takes to the sky. Bellerophon and his Pegasus go untargetable, bank a spear, and detonate his own dive-shield through a Lance that shreds a slice of the enemy's max HP — murder on tanks, a scratch on everyone else.
0.56
Perseus, the Mirror's Edge
July 4–10, 2026
A new champion, released and then chiselled for a week straight. Perseus dons the Helm of Invisibility and steps into a Shadow Realm where blows heal him and heals burn — chipping enemies with self-draining cuts he banks and dumps as one reflected beam.
0.55
Enter the Lair: Raids & the Arena
July 4–6, 2026
The raid gets a real front door and the arena a real challenge board. A role-picker that drafts from your whole roster, a live raid feed with party portraits and a composed battle map, an in-channel deck picker that kills the DM dance, and challenge cards you can actually read. And in the same breath: Echo torn down and rebuilt, and a whole shelf of healers — Phoenix, Amalthea, Asclepius — handed real numbers.
0.54
Midas, the Gilded
July 3–4, 2026
The most-moved champion on the whole roster. A support in the design codex, then a gold DD, then reworked again, then a pure healer, then a damage experiment over a single frantic few days — before finally settling back where he belongs: the Gilded Paladin, a gold-themed protector who shields and mends.
0.53
Phoenix, the Pyre
June 23 – July 3, 2026
Egg-rebirth glass cannon, then a pure-burst rebuild, then a full sacrifice kit where his whole identity is dying for the team. Three takes across two weeks, and the sacrifice version is the one that stuck.
0.52
Raids Rise
June 29 – July 2, 2026
Raid chests go live, the arena gets an hourly leaderboard, and the whole expedition system gets rethemed under one banner. The systems catch up to the roster.
0.51
Icarus, the Sunforged
June 26–29, 2026
A brand new champion. A berserker bomber who hurts everyone, including his own team, and heals only himself off the wreckage. He shipped in the same commit as Daedalus's rework and Ariadne's, but there was too much of him to bury in a shared line.
0.50
Ariadne, the Needle
June 24–27, 2026
Four takes in four days, same as Daedalus. Mark-based snowball, then combo points, then "the Needle", then momentum-as-combo. She was the hardest to pin down because I could see her too clearly.
0.49
The Combat Overhaul
June 22–28, 2026
While the marquee reworks got their own pages, the rest of the roster still moved, and the systems underneath it changed shape. Eleven artifacts fixed in one sweep, a new artifact, and Gorgon's Cavern embedded straight into the arena.
0.48
Two New Supports: Pasiphae & Asclepius
June 24, 2026
Two supports built in a single day. Neither had the take-count to carry a page alone, so they share one. Pasiphae, and Asclepius the potion-and-revival engineer.
0.47
Daedalus, the Automaton
June 24–27, 2026
The inventor finally shipped, and then I could not leave him alone. Four complete takes in four days. Build, then Omega Protocol, then a full rework, then a two-action turn. He earned his own page just by refusing to sit still.
0.46
Atalanta & Arachne Reforged
June 15–21, 2026
Two full champion reworks shipped side by side, three artifacts retuned in the same breath, and the leveling economy finally locked down. When two champs get rebuilt together, they share a patch. When one eats a whole week alone, it gets its own.
0.45
Cleanup & the Leaderboard
June 8–14, 2026
The week a single find-and-replace nearly took the whole game down. Also the week the bot went public on top.gg.
0.44
The Voiceline Wave
June 4–7, 2026
The roster comes alive. A playable demo arena, a champion VFX cascade, a full audio system, and Minthe joins the fight. 100 commits turning portraits into characters that talk back.
0.43
Potion System Unification
June 3, 2026
Potions get unified into one clean system: a rich craft result, one inventory, and a per-champion loadout so each deck slot can carry its own brew.
0.42
Vote Box & Community Billboards
June 2, 2026
The vote system grows up: real top.gg signature verification, a vote panel with quest tiles, and a three-day welcome bonus chain. 39 commits wiring the game to the outside world.
0.41
Rewards & Collection Polish
June 1, 2026
A finish pass on how rewards and the collection feel: a shared green claim embed, sticky message routing, and a fix for XP bars showing "undefined."
0.40
Familiars & Roster Tuning
May 25–31, 2026
Familiar quests get locked values, and a whole handful of champions get balance passes in the same breath.
0.39

0.36
Quest & Vendor Split
May 18–20, 2026

0.35

The core economy locks into its final shape and abilities go one-click. 123 commits: keys, daily rewards, and a battle that finally feels snappy.
0.34
The Alchemy & Potion Engine
May 13–14, 2026
Potions become a real typed system — ten distinct brews, each with its own combat hook — and the Garden trims down to the three tabs that matter.
0.33
Collection Navigation Redesign
May 12–13, 2026
Collection gets a Full View mode and a single unified navigation, and the command surface collapses into clean short aliases. 40 commits making the binder feel like one thing.
0.32
Web Arena & Profile Polish
May 11, 2026
The duel gets its signature look — the Blood & Nectar theme — and the profile card gets a polish pass. 44 commits sharpening the surfaces people actually stare at.
0.31
Onboarding & Navigation Overhaul
May 6–8, 2026
90 commits on how players find their way around: an owl companion, a navigator panel, the help system folded in-chat, and a wall of command shortcuts.
0.30
The Inventory & Collection Redesign
May 5–8, 2026
88 commits reworking how you hold and manage your collection: a new profile canvas, dedicated artifact and potion pages, and a proper multi-step burn ritual.
0.29
The Mobile Arena Reconstruction
May 4–10, 2026
The single biggest push of the densest week: 155 commits rebuilding the web arena for phones from the ground up. Portrait, landscape, one-hand. Plus a ranked queue and the first raid viewer.
0.28
Economy 6.5 & the Proteus Rework
May 4–6, 2026
The trading economy gets its final shape — direct player trades, gated for fairness — and the shapeshifter finally works. Part of the densest week in the whole project.
0.27
Materials, Raid Gate & the Profile Canvas
May 1–3, 2026
A whole materials layer enters the economy, the raid gate and its key currency go in, and the profile card gets a full v2 redesign. 101 commits.
0.26
Collection & Achievements
April 30 – May 1, 2026
The deck builder and achievement system get rebuilt — 11 achievement categories, equippable titles, and a warmer look.
0.25
Lyssa Reforged
April 27–28, 2026
The first champion to get properly torn apart and rebuilt — and the week champion stats moved into one canonical file that every tuning pass since reads from.
0.24
Tutorial System & the Agora
April 27–29, 2026
A real new-player funnel, guided by Daedalus, and a trading hub of its own. 102 commits building the on-ramp so a stranger can go from zero to their first duel.
0.23
Arena & Expedition Foundations
April 25–26, 2026
The arena gets a real deck picker and DM-based challenge flow, expeditions collapse to three clean daily quests, and channel setup becomes fully automatic. 46 commits laying the plumbing.
0.22
The Sanctum & the Grab
April 23, 2026
Opening a chest becomes a live first-to-click contest, the chest hub gets rebuilt into the Sanctum, and the forge learns to craft hooks. 38 commits in a single day.
0.21
Ten Champions Go Live
April 22, 2026
Ten champions become playable at once, wrapped in a full four-tier chest system. The roster stops being a preview and becomes a game.
0.20

April 20, 2026
The card renderer gets its final look. New borders, a rarity crystal, trait icons up top, and a gradient that finally lets the art breathe.
0.19
Card Frame & Art Overhaul
April 18, 2026
A single-day sprint that rebuilt the card renderer from the frame up and pulled three champions into the drop pool.
0.18
Into Discord
April 6–9, 2026
Four days that moved the whole game onto Discord. OAuth, an Activity SDK arena, a VPS deploy, and a full client menu redesign. I barely slept this week.
0.17
Champions Awaken
March 30 – April 5, 2026
Champions stop being static cards. A shared status-effects engine, per-champion ability handlers, and duels you can watch. The pace starts climbing here and never really stops.
0.16
Kickstarter Prep
February 27–28, 2026
A cleanup pass and the first real groundwork for a Kickstarter. Starting to think about showing this to strangers.
0.15

A new duel engine, the first real daily quests, and Blood & Nectar v11.0: the artifact framework everything since has been bolted onto.
0.14

A quiet one over the holidays. Admin tooling and a few rough edges sanded down.
0.13
Collection & Competition
November 17–21, 2025
A real collection grid, and a full internal harness for grading matchups. Building the test bench before there was anyone to test on.
0.12

The duel system gets a full pass and champion portraits show up for the first time. Cards get faces.
0.11

After a long quiet, combat arrives. 3v3 stops being an idea in a doc and becomes something you can actually play.
0.10
Genesis
June 1–15, 2025
The dream becomes a repo. The very first commit. A collection loop rebuilt from scratch and the first version of the Garden. From here, every push is on the record.
0.09
Cecrops, Three Times
Design era (2025)
One champion, three completely different souls, before he shipped as a fourth. This is what a single card costs when you refuse to leave it alone.
0.08
The Roster Dream: Support
Design era (2025)
The healers, the shapeshifters, the schemers. The back line of the fever dream. Some of these carried three names across three drafts.
0.07
The Roster Dream: Damage
Design era (2025)
The damage dealers. This is where the fever dream ran hottest. Dozens of concepts, whole mythologies of kits, most of them never seeing a single line of code.
0.06
The Roster Dream: Tanks
Design era (2025)
Before most of these ever touched code, they lived in a design codex that kept mutating. The walls of the team. Some made it to the arena. Some are still on the shelf, waiting for their day.
0.05
The Bag
Early March 2025
The first inventory. Your collection, laid out and paged through. Pull, keep, look, want more. The loop finally closes.
0.04
It Moves
February 2025
Animated borders. The single most stubborn stretch of the whole early build. Weeks of my life went into making a glow move without choking the bot.
0.03
Four Layers
February 2025
Cards stop being rows in a table and start looking like something you want to hold. Real rendering, composited on the fly.
0.02
First Draw
Late January 2025
The first card pull. Spend currency, get a card, let rarity decide your luck. The core loop, in its ugliest possible form.
0.01
Memory
January 2025
A database goes in. Now players exist, own things, and are remembered between sessions. The economy had bones before it had a body.
0.00
First Light
Early January 2025
The bot wakes up. One command, one reply, and a plan way too big for one person: a whole collectible game living inside a chat server.
